The Regional Alliance for Preservation provides information and resources on preservation and conservation for cultural institutions and the public throughout the United States.
Historic collections frequently contain paintings and other framed artwork. This workshop will give an overview on how to care for this type of collection, which requires unique storage and handling considerations. The session will guide participants in preservation best practices, provide recommendations for moving and un-framing artwork, identify conservation concerns, and instruct when to contact a professional conservator.
